Environment and Disposal
Return and Disposal of Used Batteries and Accumulators (BattG)
Many devices include batteries or accumulators that are necessary for operation. According to the Battery Act (BattG), we, as a retailer, are obligated to inform our customers of the following: Used batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. Consumers are legally required to take batteries to an appropriate collection point. You can return batteries and accumulators free of charge here:
- at a public collection point
- at any store that sells batteries and accumulators, regardless of where they were purchased
- by mail to our warehouse at "Meelbaumstr. 7, 30165 Hannover"
Please dispose of defective batteries at your local hazardous waste collection site or recycling center. Used batteries contain valuable raw materials that can be recycled.
Accumulators and batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out trash bin.
The trash bin symbol means that batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of in household waste.
The markings below the trash bins indicate: Pb for lead; Cd for cadmium; Hg for mercury. These chemical symbols indicate that a certain threshold of the specified substances has been exceeded in this battery type:
- Hg: more than 0.0005% by weight of mercury
- Cd: more than 0.002% by weight of cadmium
- Pb: more than 0.004% by weight of lead
You can also find these notices in the accompanying documents of your order or in the manufacturer's user manual.
Old Electrical Devices Must Not Be Disposed of in Household Waste (ElektroG)
Since March 24, 2006, old electrical appliances may no longer be disposed of in household waste. This regulation applies to all electronic and electrical devices, from electric toothbrushes to home tanning beds, from washing machines to digital cameras, regardless of their age.
Cities and municipalities accept devices free of charge. Collection is available at designated sites, and in some cases, home collection services are offered. Existing collection systems (e.g., recycling centers, bulky waste collection) are typically used.
If you cannot find a collection point near you, our customer service will be happy to assist you.

Additional Information
Why Should You Take Old Electrical Devices to a Collection Point?
Old electrical devices contain hazardous substances as well as valuable resources. Collection points send the old devices to certified disposal companies, which first assess whether refurbishment and reuse are possible. If reuse is not feasible, the devices are treated, hazardous substances are removed, and valuable resources are recycled. This helps protect the environment and conserve scarce resources.
Removing Batteries and Light Bulbs
Please remove easily accessible accumulators, batteries, and light bulbs before disposing of your electrical appliances. Ensure that they are disposed of properly.
Don't Forget: Delete Personal Data
Each consumer is responsible for deleting personal data from their electronic or electrical device before disposal.
Environmentally Friendly Disposal of Light Bulbs, Lamps, and Fixtures
Most lamps and light sources contain hazardous substances and valuable resources. Consumers are legally required to dispose of them at an approved collection site to ensure environmentally friendly recycling.
You can dispose of them free of charge at your local recycling or waste disposal center.
Please note that fluorescent lamps, halogen (metal vapor lamps), fluorescent tubes, and neon lamps may contain small amounts of mercury. If a lamp breaks, avoid skin contact.
Incandescent bulbs and halogen lamps may be disposed of in household waste.
