Design Meets Engineering

When developing a device, the primary focus is on high functionality. The design must be aimed at consistent performance at the highest level. The designer's vision determines the device's functionality and inspires so much more. Such visions often pose significant technical challenges and frequently provide important impulses for innovations. However, the goal remains the same: maximum ease of use for the aesthetes among ambitious home cooks. A functional work of art.

Giving Metal Its Purpose

Whether we operate the most modern laser cutters with high efficiency or meticulously polish by hand, the result of all these working hours is always of extraordinary value. This is how products with soul are created.

Digital Work by Hand

We are still as committed to handcrafting today as we were 300 years ago. However, this does not mean that we cling to long-past times. In fact, the qualified use of the latest technologies in manual manufacturing brings invaluable added value. In our Lipsheim facility, we have set up a cleanroom where our unique, state-of-the-art TFT touch displays are handcrafted.

Handcrafted Work that Makes an Impact

The assembly of our refrigerators requires 840 processing steps. Of these, 813 are performed manually; our unique 90 cm wide ovens—equally the landmark of Gaggenau—have been handcrafted for over 30 years. Even in our oven bricks, our name is embossed.

Professional

From our collaboration with professional chefs, we understand what makes their work enjoyable and what hinders it. Their tools must be intuitive and labor-saving, highly functional, and robust: the chef must have the freedom to fully dedicate themselves to their composition. While design is not of central importance in a professional kitchen, it takes center stage in one's own home.

Kitchen

Culinary culture is becoming increasingly important in our lives outside of work. Cooking, eating, and socializing often all take place in one room. And if the kitchen is the heart of a home, then Gaggenau is the soul.

Principle

The principle of the professional kitchen is our foundation. Professional equipment, like the ingredients, must be of the highest quality and contribute to the value of the finished product. We apply this approach to the private environment as well, while also considering aesthetic demands. With these technical requirements and their ambitions, home cooks can create dishes of consistent quality that can stand up to professional kitchens.

Only perfect insulation makes it possible for the outer side of the oven door to remain completely cool while temperatures of 485˚C are present on the other side. The door of the 400 series oven is made of five layers of special glass.
