The Airfryer Oven - A Must-Have for Every Kitchen? 🤔
Lots of hot air and nothing behind it? That might not be the case with the air fryer! With air frying, food is cooked crispy in a hot air flow. Using little oil, it's much healthier and faster compared to a traditional deep fryer. The new Air Fry function is available as a standalone device, but also as a hot-air frying feature for your oven.

Advantages of the Airfryer 👍
- Crispy crust and tender inside
- No drying out of food
- Fast cooking
- Minimal unhealthy trans fats
Disadvantages of the Airfryer 👎
- Lacks the fat flavor, which you can ideally compensate for with spices
- Only suitable for dishes that require little moisture
Who Can Benefit from an Airfryer?
Generally, an air fryer is perfect for those who enjoy eating healthy and delicious meals. An air fryer in the oven is ideal for those who don't want an extra appliance on their countertop and want to cook larger quantities at once.

Which Manufacturers Offer the Airfry Oven?
Not every oven can fry food. So far, only the best models are equipped with the new Airfry oven function. Here is a quick overview of which of our manufacturers offer such a device and how to access the function.

Air Fry at Siemens
Every connected Siemens iQ700 Oven (in the new studioLine design) comes with the new heating method Siemens Air Fry. To use it, you'll need Home Connect and the special Siemens Air Fry baking tray as an optional accessory. The heating method can then be saved as a favorite in the oven menu, so you don't have to always open the Home Connect app to access the function.

Air Fry at Bosch
The Bosch oven features its own hot air frying function: the Bosch Air Fry heating method. It is one of the highlights of the Bosch Serie 8 Oven and ensures crispy results when baking, such as with oven fries. The appliance combines the built-in grill with air circulation. All you need is the special perforated baking tray, which is included with some models. For others, it can be purchased as an optional accessory.

Air Fry at Miele
AirFry is a new operating function in the Miele Oven, for example, featured in the special ovens from the 125 Gala Edition for the 125th brand anniversary.
Miele AirFry combines hot air plus and top heat, cooking food to be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Together with a special tray, the Gourmet Baking and AirFry Tray, you get crispy results.
The best part of the Miele AirFry oven is that you don’t necessarily need to buy a new appliance. Many models already have the necessary technology built in, so all you need to do is set the correct heating combination for air frying in the oven. We explain exactly how to do this here.

What is the difference between an Airfryer, AirFry Oven, and Deep Fryer?
New terms, new confusions. In the kitchen industry, different names and spellings are often used for seemingly similar items. Especially when it comes to an English term like Airfryer (sometimes spelled Air Fryer or AirFryer). Therefore, it should be noted that the German term for Airfryer can be "Heißluftfritteuse." This is because the device uses hot air (Heißluft) to fry food.

What is an Air Fryer?
An Airfryer is an electric kitchen appliance equipped with a heating element and a fan. The food is placed in a basket (or tray), where it is surrounded by hot air, resulting in crispy browning or frying.
In an Airfryer, food becomes crispier than it would in a conventional oven with regular settings. It is smaller, consumes less power, but also offers less space and is only available as a countertop device. Therefore, the Airfryer is not really a replacement for a traditional oven, but rather an additional appliance.
This is an Air Fry Function in an Oven
The AirFry function in an oven is an additional heating method to conventional settings like convection or top heat. Essentially, it's an oven with an integrated air fryer. Typically, only a special baking tray is required, such as a perforated baking and AirFry tray from Miele. However, air frying in the oven works well with a classic grill baking tray as well. The key is to ensure even heat distribution.
In the oven, you can cook more food at the same time. However, it is larger and takes up more space.
This is a Deep Fryer
In a deep fryer, food is cooked in a large amount of hot fat or oil until it becomes crispy on the outside. This is different from an air fryer, where hot air is used to create crispy exteriors. With a traditional deep fryer, a lot of oil is required, which must be disposed of afterward. Additionally, heating the oil in a deep fryer can produce unpleasant odors.
