Baking Pretzel Easter Bunnies 🐰
Our first simple Easter recipe is perfect for your Easter brunch: an Easter bunny made from pretzel dough sticks. Here's how to bake these quick Pretzel Easter Bunnies.

What you need for the Pretzel Easter Bunny:
- Pretzel dough sticks
- Small chocolate balls, e.g., Smarties or chocolate eggs
- A bit of icing
- A knife
- An oven
How to bake it: First, make a slit at the top of the pretzel dough stick to create two bunny ears. Pinch the tips slightly thinner and bend them gently. Bake the pretzel stick in the oven as directed. Let it cool briefly, then use icing to attach a chocolate ball as the bunny's tail. And that's it – your quick Pretzel Easter Bunny is ready!
Carrot Cake for Easter 🥕
Next, we have a delicious baking idea for a simple Easter cake: the carrot cake (also known as "Möhrenkuchen" or "Rüblikuchen").

What you need for the carrot cake:
- 200g each of flour and ground almonds
- 200g sugar
- 400g finely grated carrots
- 4 eggs
- 1 orange, 100 ml oil, 2 tsp baking powder
- White couverture or cream cheese frosting
- Food coloring in green & orange
- Piping bag, grater or food processor, two mixing bowls, 26 cm springform pan
- Oven
How to prepare and bake:
First, finely grate the carrots using a fine grater or a food processor for faster results. Add the dry ingredients—flour, almonds, and baking powder—to the grated carrots. Next, separate the eggs. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar, juice of half an orange, and oil. Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Combine everything into the carrot batter, mix well, and pour into a greased springform pan. Bake in a fan oven at 160°C for about 50 minutes. Let it cool completely, then decorate with the colored couverture or cream cheese frosting to resemble a carrot. Your Easter carrot cake is ready!
Edible Easter Nest Crafting 🪺
Easter wouldn't be complete without Easter nests. We found a simple and creative DIY idea to make an edible Easter nest: a nest made of pretzel sticks and chocolate—the perfect blend of sweet and salty. Of course, we had to try it out ourselves!

What You Need for the Edible Easter Nest:
- Crumbled pretzel sticks
- Melted chocolate
- Chocolate eggs
- Plastic wrap & a bowl
- Optional: Sprinkles, edible decorations, etc.
How to Make It:
First, melt the chocolate (either in the microwave or on the stovetop). Then, crumble the pretzel sticks and place them in a bowl lined with plastic wrap. Pour the melted chocolate over the pretzel pieces, mix, and shape into a nest. Add decorations, let it cool, and your edible Easter nest is ready—no baking required!
