The technology used in Berbel extractor hoods is typical of the so-called berbel principle. The way the filter works is completely different to that of hoods from other manufacturers, such as Miele or Bosch. This is because berbel extractor hoods work with centrifugal force. Cooking fumes are drawn in through a gap in the hood, accelerated and deflected in an arc. This resulting force can then throw dirt particles out of the air. For example, fat and oil particles. These in turn are separated and collected on the upper and lower shells and on the collecting sieve (the so-called capillary trap).

Hood control via remote control and app

Operation

Light and power are controlled via an external remote control. More precisely, via a battery-operated infrared remote control with a range of around 10 meters and an average battery life of 100 days. Controlling it directly on the hood would ultimately be pointless. Both fan power and light can be adjusted using the remote control, and this can be done very easily by touching the buttons. The selection is then confirmed by a signal tone, vibration and brief flashing. The only exception is the effect lighting directly on the hood. With some installations, however, the effective hood lighting on the ceiling can only be operated using the on-site light switch. Not via the remote control.

Construction, installation, assembly.

The individual components of the berbel ceiling lift hood are just as special as the design. These three elements are particularly important:

The ceiling console, consisting of a ceiling connection plate and paneling
The hood body with effect lighting
The lower shell, behind which the filter technology is hidden

When installing, you can choose between partial or full retractability. If the ceiling hood can be completely retracted into the ceiling, this naturally has the advantage that the hood sits flush. This enables a very modern kitchen design in which the extractor hood takes up as little space as possible. However, if the hood is only partially retractable, it stands out a little more. Nevertheless, the Berbel Skyline can also be put in the spotlight in this way. As a visual lighting highlight in the kitchen. Similar to a stylish ceiling lamp.

Four ropes are used for the bracket, each attached to the corners. You have the option of adding a rope extension as an optional extra. For optimal use of the extractor hood, the filters must be cleaned regularly and replaced if necessary. To do this, you must first open the cover of the lower shell and then remove it to access the filter technology. Both capillary traps on the Skyline can be easily removed and cleaned in the dishwasher. The surfaces and the receiving slot should also be cleaned. A soft, damp cloth is sufficient for this. Once you have ensured that the capillary traps are completely dry, the filters can be reinserted.

The basis of these ceiling hoods from berbel is the simple Skyline Curve. Without a lot of frills and rounded (curvy) corners. The berbel Skyline Curve has a rectangular shape and rounded corners. Berbel Skyline Edge extractor hood

The most popular Berbel extractor hood on the market is the Skyline Edge with square edges. A ceiling hood that is not even recognizable as an extractor hood at first glance. Its absolute unique selling point is that it is extendable. When you switch the ceiling hood on, it moves down from the ceiling on four cables and positions itself about 45 cm above the hob. When it is switched off again, the extractor hood disappears into the kitchen ventilation ceiling. There it is almost invisible. Just looks like a pretty ceiling light.

A special form of the Skyline Edge is the Skyline Edge with Sound. It has an integrated sound system from T+A and thus ensures a sonorous atmosphere while cooking. The necessary technology is invisibly integrated into the modern ceiling lift hood design.

Many functions of the Skyline Edge Sound are similar to the simple Skyline Edge from berbel. However, this model also comes with a nice sound effect. The control is done via the existing media server via WLAN or directly via a Bluetooth connection.

Berbel Skyline Round extractor hood

The Skyline Round is a bit out of line. It doesn't appear rectangular, but round. However, the shape is the only difference between the berbel Skyline Edge, Frame and Round. The third variant of the ceiling lift hood also descends from the ceiling on ropes and offers beautiful lighting effects in addition to the extraction power. The ceiling hood designed by the designer Stefan Ambrozus has a pretty effect lighting that radiates upwards and thus perfectly highlights the cooking surface. Due to the small diameter, it is also only suitable for hobs with a maximum width of 80 cm.

As you can see, the hood specialist berbel offers a range of modern and powerful extractor hoods. Above all with the Skyline ceiling hoods. However, the manufacturer is not the only one that specializes in devices for clean air in the kitchen. When it comes to cooktop extractors, the BORA brand with its cooktops is certainly way ahead. In terms of variation, Miele in particular can keep up with berbel. Especially with the latest developments, the Generation 7000 built-in appliance series.
