In March 2020, the cooktop manufacturer BORA expanded its product family. The new innovation is called X Pure. Visually, it is reminiscent of its predecessor, the BORA Pure. It also comes with a round inlet nozzle in the middle of the cooktop. It also has a vertical slider that is used to operate the cooktop. And a large surface induction that is ideal for cooking and frying.

The BORA X Pure induction hob with extractor hood

This hob from BORA is a modern induction hob with integrated extractor hood. Similar to its predecessor, the BORA Pure, the extractor hood consists of a round inlet nozzle at the bottom. This extracts cooking smells and fumes directly from the hob. Below, integrated filters in the ventilation technology ensure that the air is filtered and released again.

Operation of the X Pure

Vertical slider with sensor keys & touch

The induction hob can be operated via touch. Below the inlet nozzle there is a vertical slider with sensor buttons that react to finger movements. Three different touch commands are distinguished: short touches (touch), long touches (long press) and vertical sliding movements (sliding). All nine power levels, settings and other hob information are then displayed in blue and white colors. Relevant elements light up brighter than irrelevant ones. In addition, the display almost completely disappears when the hob is switched off. This creates a nice black vision effect. Only the on and off switch is still slightly visible so that you can operate it.

Functions of the X Pure

Surface induction & pot detection

In addition to the striking design, the BORA X Pure also has a number of practical functions. These are primarily intended to simplify cooking and frying. The glass ceramic hob has a surface induction with two 230 x 230 mm cooking zones each. They can also be combined with one another using a practical bridge function. This creates a large surface on which you can cook and fry with large pots and roasters. The X Pure also has intelligent pot detection. Each cooking zone automatically detects the size of the cookware and releases the energy specifically to that surface. The new induction hob also detects cookware that is too small, missing or unsuitable. It then switches off automatically after 10 minutes.

Extraction technology of the X Pure

Exhaust air or recirculation?

The BORA cooktop can be operated with both exhaust air and recirculated air. In exhaust air mode, the air is cleaned by a grease filter and led outside in a duct system. If the extractor is controlled using recirculated air, the air is also first cleaned by a grease filter. An activated carbon filter is also used to filter or bind odors. The cleaned air is then released back into the room.

The BORA X Pure 2024

In 2024, the BORA cooktop was revised. The BORA X Pure 2024 is now available in matt and glossy glass ceramic. The matt BORA X PUre Rough surface conceals fingerprints and streaks.

The operation of the new BORA X Pure is also new. The slider is now three-colored: blue for the fan, red for the temperature and white for the neutral display.

With BORA Assist, the hob becomes intelligent. It controls the power and lets you know when the target temperature is reached.

The BORA X Pure and its functions

The following description of the BORA X Pure offers more than just a brief overview. Let's now take a closer look at the new cooktop with extractor. Here are all the new and important functions that you can look forward to when you buy it.

X Pure vs. Pure - the difference

Like the BORA Pure, only better. We summarize the differences between the two hobs here.

BORA X Pure

  • Inlet nozzle: round cooktop extractor, placed in the middle, creates different looks when turned
  • Operation: control slider in white and blue
  • Performance: improved volume
  • Functions: surface induction with four large cooking zones

BORA Pure

  • Inlet nozzle: round cooktop extractor, centrally positioned, made up of several circles
  • Operation: control slider in red
  • Performance: low noise
  • Functions: surface induction with four large cooking zones

Differences in appearance

When you look at the X Pure hob, the first thing that catches your eye is the distinctive design of the inlet nozzle. BORA X Pure has a round extractor that is slightly recessed into the middle of the hob. By twisting it, you can create different looks.

Differences in operation / function

The control slider is also slightly different. The display is shown in white and blue. Instead of red, as with the Pure. The modern color scheme is supported by light and dark contrasts. This makes the user interface almost invisible in standby mode. Only the on-off button is visible because it is illuminated from below in the background.

The X Pure also offers surface induction cooking zones that ensure complete heating. For even more flexibility, the front and rear cooking zones can be connected using a bridge function. This means that roasting pans and large pots also have more space on the hob. In general, the cooking zones on the X Pure are slightly larger than on its predecessor, the Pure.

Differences in performance

BORA has also improved the new hob in terms of performance. It is particularly impressive with its extremely low noise level. At low as well as high power levels. This is made possible by the revised air flow and the use of a low-noise fan. BORA X Pure is therefore even quieter than the already quiet BORA Pure hob.

Tips for installing a BORA cooktop extractor

Due to the low height of the device, the installation options for the BORA X PURE are not very limited. However, some of the manufacturer's installation instructions should be followed.

  • Make sure there is sufficient support for thin worktops
  • Drawers and shelves in the base cabinet must be removable
  • Recommended minimum distances: 50 mm at the back between the worktop cut and the rear edge; 300 mm to the left and right of the worktop cut to the adjacent cabinet or room wall; 600 mm between the worktop and the wall cabinet; Furniture dimensions: 900 x 600 x 199 mm
