Why a steam oven?
A steam oven combines traditional baking functions with modern steam technology. The result: better cooking results, more vitamins, and an incomparable flavor. The steam function is a real advantage, especially when baking bread and for delicate foods like fish or vegetables.
Read more about this in Steamer Advantages.
A combo steamer is an all-rounder and replaces many small kitchen appliances. It can be used for traditional cooking (potatoes, fish, meat, etc.), but also for sterilizing, canning, or gently defrosting.

Targeted bursts of steam increase the humidity in the oven, ensuring a particularly tender and juicy texture of the food. The bursts of steam can also be individually programmed, thus further influencing the baking result.

Conclusion of our steam oven comparison
In conclusion, it can be said that many well-known manufacturers offer very good ovens with a steam function. In principle, the range doesn't differ much. All of the bestsellers presented here are very similar in terms of quality. The most expensive model isn't always the best – many affordable appliances impress with solid technology and ease of use. Always pay attention to useful additional features, such as self-cleaning, automatic programs, or sous-vide cooking.
For a steam oven, you can expect to spend around €1,000. The more specialized the oven features, the more expensive the kitchen appliance. Premium models from our manufacturers cost €2,000 and up. The Gaggenau steam oven is among the more expensive ovens. You'll also have to pay a bit more for the Smeg oven and the Miele oven. Here, you pay primarily for innovations such as an integrated oven camera and, in the case of Smeg, for Italian (retro) design.
Affordable models can be found primarily at Bauknecht (it's also worth taking a look at the sister brand: Privileg steam ovens). We also offer Bauknecht steam ovens at a significant discount in our online shop. If you're looking for bargains, you'll also find them in our oven sale or buy second-hand steam ovens at lower prices.
