Dishwasher comparison Miele vs. Siemens
So much for the special features of the two brands. We used various criteria to directly compare Miele and Siemens. Firstly, there are the most striking differences in operation, special functions and dishwasher basics. These include, above all, the dimensions, the volume and the noise level. But also the price, which is probably the most important purchase criterion for many.
Dimensions: How big are Miele & Siemens dishwashers?
Dishwasher manufacturers usually produce appliances in standard sizes. This ensures that the appliances fit into every kitchen of every age. Miele and Siemens naturally also adhere to this.

Interior volume: How much fits in the dishwasher baskets?
There are also parallels between Miele and Siemens dishwashers when it comes to interior design. Flexible baskets, for example, can be found in both brands.

Miele dishwasher baskets
In addition to flexible elements in the upper and lower baskets, which can also be purchased separately as Miele dishwasher accessories, the brand also offers the "3D MultiFlex drawer". Some elements can also be adjusted in this. For example, large cutlery items can also be stored in the drawer. Small items can also be stored better in it. Small espresso cups, for example, which then no longer slip so quickly. In addition, the Miele 3D MultiFlex drawer creates more space in the dishwasher basket thanks to adjustable middle and side parts, which also makes it easier to store tall wine glasses.
Siemens dishwasher baskets
At Siemens, the flexible basket design is called "VarioFlex". This term indicates that a large number of elements are adjustable. This means that you can safely store almost any item of crockery in the dishwasher.
Volume: How loud is a Miele & Siemens dishwasher?
There is almost no difference in volume either.
This is how loud a Miele dishwasher is
Miele dishwashers have low noise levels starting at 41 decibels (dB). This is about as loud as the so-called room volume.
This is how loud a Siemens dishwasher is
In the Silence program, a Siemens dishwasher is even quieter than its competitor and only reaches 39 dB.
Rinse cycles: How long does a rinse cycle last?
Depending on the manufacturer, the rinse cycles have different names. This can be very confusing if you don't want to read up on the topic in full. Or if you can compare brands and devices with each other. That's why we took a close look at the programs and operation of the dishwashers and found out how long a rinse cycle lasts on dishwashers. Here are the results.

Miele dishwasher duration & programs
Miele dishwashers offer a wide range of washing programs. Starting with normal operation, through ECO operation, to cleaning programs for special dishes (pasta or paella).
When buying a dishwasher, you should make sure that the device has a short program, an intensive program and an eco program. Good dishwashers, however, are characterized by the fact that they also offer a number of additional programs. At Miele, these include the pasta washing program mentioned above, hygiene, AutoDos and washing without an upper basket.
The duration then varies depending on the setting. In the shortest washing program (QuickPowerWash), your dishes are cleaned in the Miele dishwasher in 58 minutes. Only fresh water is used for this.
Siemens dishwasher duration & programs
Siemens dishwashers have a few more functions. For example, an extra silence program and a night program. Both settings are particularly quiet and are also suitable for switching on outside of normal times. The brand also impresses with a hygiene setting (HygienePlus), the environmentally friendly Eco dishwashing program and a series of intensive cleaning rinse cycles, such as intensiveSmart 45° or intensiveZone.
Siemens rinse cycles also depend on the temperature and intensity of the rinsing process. A Siemens short program lasts 89 minutes. So almost half an hour longer than Miele.
Price-performance: Which is cheaper - Miele or Siemens?
Now we come to what is probably the most important purchase criterion for dishwashers. We have compared the portfolio of both brands and selected one cheaper and one more expensive product. So which is cheaper: Miele or Siemens?
